These Homemade Elderberry Gummies are a fun and delicious way for you and the kids to reap all the immune-boosting benefits of elderberries. Best of all, they’re super easy to make using my Homemade Elderberry Syrup.
Elderberry Gummies Benefits
Elderberries already have many health benefits, but by pairing elderberry syrup with grass-fed gelatin, it adds even more benefits. Here’s why we love taking elderberry gummies daily.
- Immune Boosting. Elderberries are packed with Vitamin C helping to boost immunity, which is especially important during cold and flu season.
- Rich In Antioxidants. Elderberries contain anthocyanins, which are a class of powerful antioxidants that not only give elderberries their rich purple color, but also help to combat harmful free radicals and reduce inflammation in the body.
- Gut Healing. By pairing homemade elderberry syrup with grass-fed beef gelatin to make these elderberry gummies, you’re also getting in the gut healing properties of the gelatin.
- Fun and Delicious. Turning elderberry syrup into homemade elderberry gummies is a fun and delicious way to encourage kids to consume immune-boosting elderberries.

Elderberry Gummies for Kids
I, typically, consume elderberry syrup this time of year for its immune boosting properties. However, sometimes to get kids to consume things that are good for them you have to make it fun – enter elderberry gummies!
Making homemade gummies of any sort is a fun process and because they’re fun and delicious to consume, the kids are more likely to eat them. You can get creative and make all sorts of gummy flavors too – elderberry, cranberry, apple, etc.
See below for dosage recommendations.

Elderberry Gummies Ingredients
To make these homemade elderberry gummies, you only need three simple things.
- Homemade Elderberry Syrup. The base of this elderberry gummies recipe is homemade elderberry syrup. Don’t fret – it’s super quick and easy to make!
- Grass-fed Beef Gelatin. This is what turns the elderberry syrup into the gummy texture. You must use gelatin, not collagen powder. Otherwise, it won’t gelatinize.
- Silicon Molds. Any type of silicon gummy molds will work. I like the teddy bear ones!

How To Make Elderberry Gummies
Making homemade elderberry gummies is probably the easiest thing you’ll make all year.
- Step 1 – Bloom the Gelatin. Add 1/4 C. of homemade elderberry syrup to a bowl and slowly sprinkle the gelatin powder over top mixing in between until dissolved.
- Step 2 – Add hot water. Continue mixing until smooth.
- Step 3 – Add remaining elderberry syrup. Continue mixing until smooth.
- Step 4 – Add to molds. Using the dropper that comes with the silicon molds, carefully drop the elderberry mixture into each slot.
- Step 5 – Refrigerate. Place in refrigerator for 2 hours to set. When ready, pop them out of the molds and store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Storage and Tips
- Refrigerate. These elderberry gummies will last in the refrigerator for up to two months.
- Freezing. I do not recommend freezing them.
- Storage. Store in an airtight container. You can also store them in a rectangle glass container and add parchment paper in between layers to avoid sticking.
- Substitutions. Feel free to substitute the elderberry syrup with any type of juice to make gummies. The ratios will remain the same.
- Gelatin. Do not use collagen protein powder. It will not “gelatinize” the gummies. You must use beef gelatin.

Dosage Recommendations
- For Adults. Take up to 2 gummies per day.
- For Kids (2 and older). Take up to 1 gummy per day. Always consult with your pediatrician first to confirm dosage amount.

Ingredients
- 1 C. Homemade Elderberry Syrup
- 4 Tbsp Grass Fed Beef Gelatin
- 1/2 C. Hot Water
Instructions

Notes
- Storage: These homemade elderberry gummies will last in the fridge for up to two months. I do not recommend freezing them.
- Bubbles: When dropping the elderberry mixture into the molds, if you see little bubbles on top, gently tap the bubbles with your finger (make sure hands are clean) and that’ll “pop” them so your gummies don’t have little bubbles.
- Dosage: Adults can take up to two gummies per day. Kids (2 years and older) can take up to one gummy per day. Always consult with the Pediatrician first to confirm dosage.
