Fat Burning Detox Smoothie

Fat-Burning Detox Smoothie Recipe

Hey y’all! Today, I’m sharing my fat-burning detox smoothie recipe, and it’s great for jumpstarting your weight loss and cleansing your body naturally.

Believe it or not, but there is a science to making a good detox smoothie. First off, you don’t want to add too many fruit sugars or else you’ll spike your blood sugars and be starving soon after. A good rule of thumb is to only add 1 serving of fruit or less per smoothie (i.e. 1 frozen banana or 1/2 frozen banana & 1/2 C. frozen berries). And, sometimes you don’t have to add fruit at all. You can use avocados or frozen pre-steamed cauliflower for a creamy texture.

Secondly, you want to make sure you’re adding leafy greens and vegetables to pack in the fiber, which is going to both cleanse your colon and provide your body with much needed minerals.

And, lastly, you want to add in healthy fats, such as avocados, ground flax or chia seeds, almond butter, etc. because the healthy fats will keep you full between meals.

This detox smoothie is gluten free, dairy free, soy free, grain free, paleo-friendly, and vegan.

Smoothie Tip #1: To give your smoothie recipes an extra creamy texture, try using frozen fruit (i.e. frozen bananas) and frozen avocados instead of adding ice. It makes the biggest difference in terms of texture. Also, make sure your bananas and avocados are fully ripe before freezing them to yield the best tasting smoothie.

Smoothie Tip #2: When adding flax and chia seeds to your smoothies, be sure to use ground flax or chia seeds because they’re much easier to digest this way, which will ensure that you’re extracting as much nutrition from the seeds as possible. If you have a coffee grinder, you can use it to make homemade ground flax or chia seeds.

I currently don’t have the calorie counts on my recipes, but I will be including this on my new website, which is being designed right now. But, I’d say it’s approximately 350-400 calories depending on the size of the banana and avocado you use.

Start with replacing breakfast with this smoothie for 30 days and monitor your results. To get quicker results, you can replace 2 meals per day with this smoothie for 30 days.

You can substitute the banana with avocado, frozen mango, frozen pineapple, or apples. You can substitute the cucumber with celery or any leafy green 🙂
