Healthy smoothies are a daily indulgence for me. I like to look at smoothies as my daily multi-vitamin because it’s easy to pack in highly nutritious foods and superfoods into a single smoothie!
Oh a typical weekday, I usually break my intermittent fast with some sort of high fiber, high fat, high protein smoothie. That’s right! Smoothies don’t have to be full of fruit sugars to be delicious. In fact, I limit myself to 1 serving of fruit or less (sometimes no fruit at all) per smoothie in order to avoid insulin and blood sugar spikes, which lead to cravings later in the day.
Today’s smoothie recipe is a great example of how I like to make my daily smoothies. This smoothie is a meal replacement, so it’s great if you’re trying to lose or maintain your weight while simultaneously giving you loads of energy!

Green Protein Detox SmoothieCourse: BreakfastDifficulty: Easy
This breakfast smoothie is low carb, keto, and paleo friendly.
1 C. Unsweetened Almond Milk
1/2 Frozen Banana (sub with another 1/2 avocado for keto)
1 Tbsp Ground Chia Seeds
1 Tbsp Almond Butter
2 Scoops Collagen Protein Powder
2 Handfuls of Spinach
Cinnamon (to taste)
- Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
